A spring eidolon; favoured as guardians by the gods of the spring triumvirate. Simargl are large, winged monsters often mistaken as Zmey (dragons) but closer in appearance to a winged dog. Standing upwards of fifteen feet tall, Simargl possess sharp teeth and claws, broad feathered wings, and a strange mix of plumage and scaling that protect their vibrantly coloured bodies.
Despite their unusual and intimidating appearance, Simargl are generally benevolent eidolons. Charged with protecting holy sites and wonders of nature, they go about their duties with endless patience and unmatched vigilance. A Simargl may spend its entire life guarding a single tree, going years without making contact with other intelligent beings. Due to this near-constant isolation, Simargl take quite kindly to travelers; often offering aid and advice to anyone who stumble upon their domain. However, those who aim to damage or destroy an area under the protection of a Simargl will find themselves faced with a truly deadly foe.
Simargl are revered and respected by many in Yavmir, especially followers of Mokosh, Vesna, and Veles. Its likeness can be found emblazoned upon jewellery, clothing, stoneware, and a multitude of other common trinkets.
