I was so very productive this week that it makes my brain hurt. With the help of a bevy of hackers, I managed to finish up the blue magic system. I also completed the animations and text for all of ISAAC’s abilities. Check out a video of the former accomplishment below.
- Adjusted game’s battle action, psi ability, and psitext documents to accommodate some additional abilities.
- Completed Blue Magic system for ISAAC. Implemented proper text and visual elements.
- Changed shield arguments to “elemental barrier” and “force shield” rather than generic psi shields.
- Completed text and animations for all of ISAAC’s abilities.
I just wanted to send out a special thanks to Michael1, MrTenda, and H.S. for helping me with various elements of the blue magic system. It works great, and it’ll be one of unique game mechanics for Unearthed!
After I finish up the implementation (mostly copy & paste work), I’ll be working on a few other new mechanics for Unearthed: multiple charge items and multi-outcome attacks. Most of the grunt work has been completed by other hackers, but I’ll have to tailor what is out there for my purposes. I seem to have gotten my video capture software situation sorted out, so I’ll upload another technical demonstration when I’ve got something to show.
