Unearthed Update: July 8th (Logistics and Sprites)

Hey everybody! I still haven’t got back into the swing of things after getting back from my vacation, so unfortunately I don’t have any sprites to show you. Sorry for the intense lameness!

I did spend a few hours dealing with the logistical side of game development though, so the week wasn’t a total wash. Just a few points for people who like to hear about the not-so-exciting behind the scenes stuff.

  • I’ve updated the still needed sprites list on the Starmen.net forums. It doesn’t contain all the sprites used in Unearthed; just the ones that were requested/completed in the final artwork cycle.
  • I’ve sorted through some of my old paperwork, fishing for enemies and ideas that may have been lost during development. One was the original Steam Man design, which Messianic has expertly crafted into a battle sprite. He’s done a butt-load of other sprites too, but those will get their own updates in due time.
  • I tweaked the blog a bit. Major changes include a Twitter widget (the old one broke), and the removal of advertisements (too much hassle for what ended up being only cents a month).
  • Radiostorm as started on the dialogue for Unearthed, with a focus on the first few areas. This will let us be better prepared for game assembly when the time comes (hopefully September).

I have a website side-project to plow through this week, but after that I’ll be intensely focused upon sprite development. Expect some new (animated) overworld sprites next Monday!
