I’m a little late on this one, but The Start Show is happening in Toronto from September 13 – 17th. The gala night is wrapping up just about now, but you can still catch some of the show from 8am to 4pm tomorrow.
This week-long showcase features games from local indie game […] developers and beyond — professionals, well-known names and bedroom coders alike. For a variety of reasons these games might be considered art.
Play free indie games on multiple screens at OCAD university’s great hall. Come to see and start a discussion about how digital games are growing into a modern art form.
If you ignore the absolutely hideous architecture, OCAD is not a bad place to hold a convention. There are some interesting, if not particularly well known, game designers and artists showing up so the rest of the event should be a blast! OCAD is located at 100 McCaul street in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Hideous? I think the architecture looks really unique and good. But then, I know next to nothing about architecture, save for what “The Fountainhead” has taught me.
A part of me really wants to like the building, and appreciate the fact that such a daring piece of architecture was built it Toronto. But every time I walk through that part of town I just have to cringe a little bit. It clashes with the buildings around it and sticks out like a sore thumb on the skyline.
It probably irks me just as much as the ROM Crystal expansion.
