The map design for the Lost Crevasse area of Unearthed is now complete! This was a gigantic pain in the ass to edit due to a restrictive tileset and some unusual tile property choices I decided to make. All in all I’m pretty happy with the final area though.
As I mentioned earlier, the Crevasse is a descent area where Mitchell takes several “leaps of faith” into the darkness below him. Jump off points are indicated by sets of footprints leading to the cliffsides. There are several different paths to descend, and Mitchell will only be able to traverse one. There is no returning to previous platforms or turning back.
You can see in the screenshot below that there are quite a few platforms floating around! The area shown above is about 1/3 of the map’s total area, so expect a lot more jumps in the final version.
Also, stay tuned over the next week or so as Radiostorm will be dropping a dMetric post or two and I’ll be revisiting an old tileset for some end game nostalgia.
