Rocky Slalom

The Rocky Slalom is a steep descent, leading Mitchell from the surface into the depths of the underworld. As Mitchell progresses down the series of ledges he will encounter strange creatures, and push farther into darkened caverns full of danger and wonder.

Rocky Slalom is one of the first true “dungeon crawls” in Unearthed. Although it contains a series of branching paths, it is actually fairly simple to navigate. I liken its design to a map on the back of a cereal box, with winding paths that all naturally progress to the same destination.

  • Beautiful! Really nice work dude! I guess a map like this is a lot easier than one with a lot of trees (damn those earthbound trees!)

  • Thanks for the feedback!

Trees are probably one of the worst elements to work with since they line up with each other in funny ways. Caves are pretty much no-brainers, as so many elements repeat and mesh with each other.

I've very glad caves are easy to edit since most of the game is underground.
