A race of subterranean creatures with a knack for exploration. They are focused on building a rocket that can take them into outer space. However, their viewpoint of space travel is a tad askew. The Grel believe the soil and rock above their heads extends indefinitely, with thousands of cavernous “endoplanets” dotted across “solid space”. The Grel’s prototype spaceship (the Skybreaker) may be useful to Mitchell on his journey… if he can convince them he’s not a violent extraterrestrial. Most Grel live in the capital city of Mulch, although they can be found in various places underground.
