After much deliberation, we’re pleased to present the first edition of the dMetric primer. This single page document details the core mechanics of the dMetric roleplaying game. Character generation and advancement, basic actions, and combat are broadly explained here.
This document is not intended as a definitive work, but rather a jumping point for interested players to splash into playing dMetric. It will soon be accompanied by appendices detailing classes, abilities, races, and monsters.
Additionally, details concerning the official dMetric campaign setting will gradually be released through this blog. Once fully actualized, the campaign setting will provide a series of maps and adventures for players to use in their own home games.
Our goal in creating dMetric is to provide a simplified, fast-paced set of roleplaying rules. Like the game of chess, we hope that advanced strategies will be birthed from relatively simple rules.

dMetric is very much a work in progress. As new iterations of the game are created, we’ll be posting “patch notes” that explain the changes. By the end of the project we hope to have a fully functioning pen-and-paper game.
